Vice President Kirk Kluchka chaired the meeting, in President Bob McIntyre’s absence, and brought the meeting to order at 7:04 p.m
Additions to Agenda

Introductions were made of all attendees and the floor was given to Mike Lownsbrough regarding the possibility of Sundre being featured on a TV show which would be broadcast in 2006
•Motion by Jim McAllister seconded by John Boulton that in the event that the Marketing Committee of the EDC chooses to proceed with a contract for the television production (and the raising of any funds required); the Chamber would provide banking services. Motion; carried
•Motion by Jim McAllister seconded by John Boulton to provide the initial investment of $2,500.00 to financially back the commitment of the Marketing Committee. Motion carried
No general meeting was held in May so only the Executive Meeting Minutes of April 6th were read and accepted by Jim McAllister with the following 2 items rising from the minutes
- Jim McAllister made mention regarding business licences for out of town builder and sub-contractors; Annette Clewes, from Town Council said that currently they are not being held accountable for licensing but it is in the process of being addressed
- Ryan Jillard chose to decline the honorarium from the Chamber for his work on the town map/brochures
•Motion by Jodi Orr seconded by Kevan Bender to accept the Executive Minutes; motion carried
Treasurer Jim McAllister presented the Financial Reports

•Motion by John Boulton,seconded by Kevan Bender. for Treasurer, Jim McAllister, to approach both the Town and the County for assistance towards the wages of the summer employees for the portion not being supported by Government grants, estimated to be $8,000.00. Motion carried
•Motion by Jim McAllister seconded by John Boulton., for the President to acquire approximately $1,200.00 to upgrade the computer/fax machine & printer in the Visitor Information Centre. Motion carrie
There were some suggestions made to the possibility of acquiring some used equipment from various Chamber members and to purchase any other items not able to be acquired in this manner. John Boulton; Kevan Bender and Marie Bourque Prus to assist Jim McAllister to investigate possible upgrades and acquisitions
The museum would like to know if they could utilize the bottom of the sign @ the Visitor Information Centre; Marilyn is to contact Bob McIntyre directly regarding the possibility as the sign is not on-site at this time
The Visitor Information Centre opened on April 16th and will operate 7 days/week through until the September long weekend with 3 dedicated 40 hours/week employees & one floater; 2 of which are students that have signed 8 week contracts
Celeste Kaban gave the Chamber an update on the Rodeo progress: the Miss Rodeo Fashion Show will be held on Saturday, May 28th with the crowning of the queen on the Friday, the first day of the rodeo - rather than the final day of the rodeo like is has been in the past. There will be an ‘adventure auction’; B.S. Bingo; the Business’ Wild Calf Roping competition; Saturday night dance, with a barn-dance theme, and T.C. & Company providing the music and Sunday having the salute to the Centennial
The Red Deer River Festival Committee consists of Bob McIntyre as Chairman, in charge of venues/street, etc. with the supporting committee members: John Boulton; Tom Mennear; Jodi Orr; Kirk Kluchka; Kevan Bendar; Jim McAllister. We are currently looking for a headlining band
Next meeting to be held on the 2nd Tuesday of June (14th), 2005
