The Chamber is continually seeking the ways and means to enhance community services by working with the Town and County, to address taxpayers concerns on economic, transportion, education, social, recreation, health and security issues. The local Chamber participates with the Alberta Chambers in bringing about change in Provincial Laws and Statutes affecting these issues in the Province.

Tourism and Economic Development

The first contact in the community for most first-time visitors to Sundre and District is the Visitors Information Centre. Last year there were .... registered guests at the Centre. The staff at the Centre promote our local business members and provide a information on business and recreational opportunities. They provide statistical information that can assist potential businesses in their investigations. In the past, the Chamber has facilitated the mentoring of new businesses to provide them with a "jump-start" in their development.

The Chamber continues to work with the two municipalities to develop strategies for economic development and regional prosperity.

The Chamber sponsors the following events annually:
The Sundre Rodeo Parade.This parade is held as the opening to Canada's 15th largest Pro Rodeo.

Red Deer River Rally. At the Civic Holiday long weekend July/August we will recognize some of our local heritage through a renewal of a competitions relating to our river and the pioneering efforts of the past.

Sundown in Sundre. The merchant members of the Chamber provide an opportunity to their customers to enjoy an evening of shopping saving on a Friday night in November. Included is an evening of music, bazaars, prizes and other festivities.

Community Awards Banquet. This gala evening in April recognizes the accomplishments of our deserving citizens.
